Training n'stuff

Makoto waited for the others to arrive.

Cyril walked up from behind Makoto. "Hello." Cyril needed to talk to Makoto alone for the time being.

Makoto slung the large sword he was holding back into the sling on his back. "Hey."

"Before we begin... I have to... well. We have things to discuss Makoto." Cyril looked nervous.

Makoto tilted his head. "Oh really?"

"Yes. With the death of Artik, I have no one of notable power level to... well." Cyril was having trouble finding the correct words. He cleared his throat abruptly. "Makoto I am dying."

Makoto grunted. "Tell me something I don't know. Just cause I'm not some god tax like you and Artik doesn't mean I'm useless. I could sense it."

Cyril shrugged. "Do you know what exactly happens to a Seraph when they die?"

Makoto thought for a moment. "I am most likely guessing it is the same that happens when a god dies. Their connection to the universe itself disappears and they fade into nothingness."

"No, but good guess." Cyril said. "What happens it quite similar to what happens when a Solar Saiyan dies. Their body is destroyed and the... for lack of a better word 'spirit' makes the journey back to the Pool or Origin where the spirit of the Seraph will stay for all eternity."

Makoto crossed his arms. "And so I am guessing that this "Pool of Origin" is where your species originated from?"

"It's where everything originated from." Cyril said simply.

Makoto shook his head. "Im not going to believe that. Even if it is true I would rather be blissfully ignorant. It's stupid that a pool of junk created everything."

Cyril shrugged. "Forgive me, but what you believe doesn't matter. What does matter is that the Pool of Origin can save my life."

Makoto raised an eyebrow. "So...I'm guessing that what this pool will do is that it will give you a new body. But with that new body will come a new power, bringing you back down to how you started out, yet retaining your knowledge and material possessions. Am I close?"

Cyril's lip curled into a half-smile. "Spot on, Makoto. The thing is, what is killing me will remain with me. It is a disease I was born with, accentuated by being in a foreign universe and by my sudden extreme power. It is a certainty that I will die once I enter the Burning One transformation."

Makoto sighed. "Fun..."

"Yeah." Cyril frowned. "And I can't just stop getting more powerful. The... nature of my lifestyle prevents it." Cyril looked down and shuffled. "Makoto, normally before I train someone I ask them to sign a contract or make an agreement of some kind..." Cyril changed the subject abruptly and trailed off.

Makoto looked at him and raised an eyebrow. "So whats the catch? Just come out with it."

"I will be entering the Pool of Origin and as capable and skilled as I am, I will completely lack the raw power needed to defend myself." Cyril said. "If I train you here today, you agree to keep me alive until my power level reaches..." here, Cyril paused and considered things. "One million."

Makoto thought about it as quickly. "I will do this if you promise to do the same for me if I ever lose my power."

"Done." Cyril held out his hand to confirm the deal.

Makoto shook the Seraphs hand. "To be honest when I first met you I hated you. I don't think I do anymore."

Cyril smiled, "Ditto." Cyril smoothed his jacket. "Well, time to begin our training."

Makoto stretched out. "So might as well start with the most important. Mind teaching me those pillars of Ki? Ill teach you my Corona Blaster."
