Penny Lane (Continued, Continued)

Cyril popped into existence on Planet Majin, the nice, candy side.

The collective population felt a bit uneasy for some inexpliccable reason. The universe tends to feel this wherever Artik goes, as if afraid their lives, their home would be reduced to rubble because of sparring or a time-thingy. Or the complete decimation of the tea and tobacco industry.

Cyril spotted Artik and walked over to him, rubbing his hands together. "Any ideas where to start? I've only been here once and we both know how that turned out."

Artik sighed, "Extreme waste of time with a box full of idiots? Sora was all right," he ammended, then paused, then shouted into his satchel, "Still not sure about you, Mirajane!"

"You'd think she would've starved or something by now." Cyril remarked

Artik gave an unsatisfying answer, shrugging, "C'est la vie."

Cyril accepted this. "Well then. Soul gem," he said again, driving the conversation back to the original topic.

Artik licked his finger and felt the currents of the world. "A lot of mystic energy coming from," he took a long breath, and pointed to the east. "Thattaway."

Cyril stopped a local Majin who was passing by and asked if anything of note was to the east. A glazed look came over the Majin. "Nothing," he said, "Nothing of any importance is there. It's boring. Just. Don't. Go there." The Majin walked away and straight into a pole.
Cyril shrugged, "Thattaway then." Cyril began walking eastwards.

Artik blinked, shrugged it off and ate a jellybaby. He offered some to Cyril from his nice, big bag of jellybabies.

Cyril took the proffered jelly baby. "You know," Cyril began reflectively, "We shrug a lot of things off."

Artik cocked his head and nodded, "Yeah. Ow," he said, fixing his neck.

"You think they'll be killing people for the soul gems?"

Artik didn't need to answer that. So he did. "No. Noooo." He grinned, "why kill, when you can reap the soul, forever?" He made a lot of hand gestures, and then stopped. "The Giving Tree. Why chop down the whole tree? Take enough to serve its purpose and keep the source alive forever." He sighed, "Of course, this causes terrific strain on the mind and soul. Make you hollow."

"Sounds reasonable." Cyril said. "Well. I mean for them. I can't let that go on if it's involuntary."

Artik nodded grimly, and pointed to a slightly glowy cave.

"Ooo a cave. How cliche." Cyril sauntered in.

Bump

Artik was getting bored. "Switch," he said. He vanished and an identical Artik appeared. "Hullo! I'm Artik from Parallel Number 1010!"

"I'm almost certain that's ridiculously dangerous." Cyril observed. He shrugged it off and walked into the cave.
"I'm here to take your life's work!" he announced magnanimously.

"Yeah! Give us your work's life," Artik shouted magmously; lava was /everywhere/. A bunch of cloaked lizards walked out of the shadows. Luckily they were allergic to boiling lava. "I think you meant 'wizards'," Artik yodelled.

A single wizard stepped forward tentatively. "Just a mo." The wizards all grouped together and began whispering loudly.
"What should we do?"
"Hell if I know."
"Should we just give them a soul gem?"
"I don't see why not!"
"There's only 5 and we've been working on them for years though!"
"Yeah, and I don't like that orange guy. His yodel is awful."
"Why did he even do that?"
"He must be mad!"
"Well we can't just hand over our life's work to a madman!"
"What about the other guy?"
"He is pretty attractive." A general murmur of agreement spread through the group.
"We can't give him our life's work just because of extremely good looks!"
This went on for some time. At least they agreed that Cyril was attractive.

Artik cleared his trout. "That's better." He tossed the fish in the magma. "What if I gave you the secrets to thyme travel? And/or dime-mention traversing."

"How do we know you have those secrets?"

Bump. I wanna get this over with.
