Lots of Universes Have a North!

Rick cracked the other box over her head and she turned into one as well. "I still don't understand how the hell this works."

Cyril looked at Rick in bewilderment. "Explain yourself!"

"What the hell!?" Lily shrieked.

Rick sighed. "You're a god, Cyril. She's your vulnerability. Now she's a Tuffle. She can absorb you and steal some power. And I can do the same to her when you get back."

Cyril remained silent and contemplative. "Lily, a Bio-Tuffle is a parasitic race that takes power from its host. The host, in most cases, must die for this to be possible." Cyril let that hang in the air.

"C-Cyril, I'm not going to kill you for power," Lily stuttered. "I wont!"

Rick pouted, "Pwease?"

Cyril sprinkled something in his coffee and downed it. "Too late," Cyril mumbled gruffly. "I'll be back in about thirty hours, Lily, don't be upset now. While I'm gone Rick will teach you as much as he can." Cyril's breathing slowed to a stop before Lily could react.

Cyril's head hit the table and immediately Lily was beside him. There were a few soft cries of denial before she composed herself. "He.. he said he would be back, right?" Lily assured herself before letting the Tuffle instincts guide her. Lily returned to her own body in a matter of moments, considerably more powerful. She shuddered.

Ryuzaki sighed. "Courtyard, Lily. Come." He walked out.

Lily made a move to touch Cyril again but the body disappeared in a flash of light. Lily reluctantly went into the courtyard. "You don't seem moved at all. Do you even care Cyril just killed himself?" Lily did not understand the afterlife here.

"He said he'll be back," Rick said. "And he will. We just show back up after a while. Death is just an inconvenience."

"What? You can't die permanently in this universe?" Lily had heard of more important people reincarnating in Universe 42A, but only rarely.

"Sometimes," Rick said. "Right. Training. Try and move to that tree without flying or walking."

Lily frowned. What? Lily went prone and crawled to the tree.

Rick threw rocks at her. "Your body musn't move," he barked.

Lily hopped back up, "Oh, you mean teleport over there? Why didn't you say so!" Lily took a step forward and disappeared. She ended up backwards about 10 feet. "What? Damnit."

"Again! Use the tree's ki to single it out!"

"Why can't I just-" Lily disappeared again. She was exactly in the spot the tree would be if it were behind her. "Ugh! Why can't I teleport like I normally do!?"

"Ki!"

"I don't need ki! I went through five years of quantum physics for this this!" Lily insisted, teleporting behind the palace. A faint shout of frustration was heard. She was slowly realizing things ween't exactly the same as Universe 42A

"Technique," Rick chanted.

A moment passed. Lily appeared in the tree looking forlorn, "I didn't used to have to do that," she grumbled.

"Now do it blindly. No ki sense. To me."

Lily closed her eyes and barreled into Rick. "There, happy?"
