Lots of Universes Have a North!

Ryuzaki looked about and sighed in relief. "It actually exists." He flopped onto the ground and stared at the sky.

"But how? This should be in a different universe! Destroyed!" Cyril insisted.

"This place must have been brought here by one of those gods," Lily suggested, looking around in awe.

Rick shrugged, "Lots of Universes have a North Galaxy," he dismissed everything by saying. Ryuzaki lit himself another cigarette.

"Now, what's going on, Rick?" Cyril asked.

"Not a war," Lily said resolutely. "We're staying out of this one Cyril!"

Rick sighed and put his fag out. "Sorry, lady, but you haven't a choice." He coughed, "Well, Cyril doesn't." He nodded at him, "You're a god now. You're going to be hunted."

"Hunted? By what? What would hunt a Kai?" Cyril asked.

"Lily," Lily informed Rick. Shouldn't he know that? Whatever. Lily habitually curved her back slightly. She was surprised to see that her wings didn't curl around Cyril like they normally did. She had done that quite often since she was more powerful than Cyril. But wait, her wings were gone... something to investigate later.

Rick started pacing, "Who would own a sword called Godbreaker? Who would take Earth from a god?"

"What? Amaterasu? I wasn't a Kai then!" Cyril said, leaning on the fountain. He noticed Lily's movement and there was a twang of emotion as he realized what she had been doing. Cyril let his wings drop around her. "She wouldn't kill me just because I'm a god!"

Lily leaned back into Cyril's wings. "Who?"

Rick waved his hand dismissively, "If not her than her father. I'm sure he's found a way to exist by now. Or her grandfather. Or her siblings! That whole family has a general hatred for gods." He coughed, "And if not them then Zero or Grim or the Oneiroi or another Ix uprising! Something will step forward to destroy you." He sighed, "You taught me way back when. And now you're immensley more powerful than me. But now I train you. I have the TARDIS's computer talking to me. Constantly. I have troves of information and wisdom. Time to use them."

"Hmm... oh that's right, Godbreaker fused with Ama's sword it became something else." Cyril said.
"Rick, I greatly appreciate the concern, but I think you're being paranoid..."

"At least here him out, Cyril," Lily said nervously, "It can't hurt to be prepared, right?"

"The Gods are but extinct. Don't you wonder why?" he asked.

Cyril stayed silent for a moment. "Do you know why?"

Things are just getting better and better.

Rick shook his head, "No more than most humans. It's all in mythology. A god gains divine and mortal enemies. The mortals usurp the god, become a god, rinse, repeat. I don't think it was just a simple sickness."

"I guess that's true..." Cyril sighed. "Well, Rick, I agree with Lily. It's best to be prepared."

Lily looked pleased.

"First, grade the first part," Rick said.

"What?"

Lily shrugged.

"I said," Rick lit a cigar this time, "Stop glowing first."
