Passing the Time

Amaterasu hugged Emily and pulled her back down. "Shhh....tired."

Akira smirked. "Never play a game that can be easily rigged. So what do you know?"

"I was going to teach you either way," Cyril admitted before looking pensive. "Not a whole lot you can learn right now. How was Power Up sound?"

"Mmm, alright," Emily muttered tiredly.

Sure.!" She said happily.

Amaterasu rolled over so she was on top of Emily.

"Alright so, do you know how to lower and raise your power level?" Cyril asked.

Emily wrapped her arms around Ama.

"Yep. My parents taught me."

Amaterasu snuggled into Emily's chest.

"Alright cool, go ahead and lower your power level vvveeeeerrryy slowly," Cyril said.

Akira did as told.

"Now raise it. Feel that feeling?" Cyril asked.

Emily stayed in a lull between wakefulness and alertness. She absently stroked Amaterasu's hair.

Akira activated power up. "Sweet."

Amaterasu purred

"Now take it up even more," Cyril said.

Akira blinked. "What do you mean?"

"You got above your original power a little bit, but not nearly enough. The trick is to emulate that feeling you get whenever you raise your power level." Cyril played with his hair absently.

Akira lowered her power an quickly raised it again, shooting it past where it was before. "Like this?"

"Yeah, just like that, good." Cyril nodded. "Once more just because I'm a stickler."

Akira did it again.

"Good. You're so much quicker than my first apprentice in this universe," Cyril said contentedly. "All hail the Glow Cloud."

Akira blinked. "What is the glow cloud?"

Riza phased into existence. "Sup." he was then tackled to the ground by Akira

"Glow cloud?" Cyril looked clueless. Riza appeared. "Oh, hello Riza."

Emily had fallen asleep by now and did not wake Amaterasu to alert her of her father's appearance.

"Ummm Cyril? Who is she?"

Akira was snuggling Riza

Amaterasu was to busy sleeping to notice

"Your daughter from about 40-ish life-cycles ago." Cyril explained.

Riza sighed. "Fun...."

Akira suddenly started to cry. "S-so you don't want me?"

Riza suddenly seemed shocked. "I didn't- I mean I don't- I just-" he stammered. He quickly hugged the crying girl. "If-if your really my daughter I guess you can stay...."

Cyril watched pretty passively. He dug his feet a little deeper into the sand.

Emily opened her eyes a crack as the crying woke her up. She nudged Amaterasu, "Hey. Hey your father is here."

Amaterasu shook her head. "Don't lie to me...."

Riza hugged Akira as she stopped crying. "I'm glad I found you dad..."

Cyril's heart was ever so warmed.

"What? No, he's right there with your sort-of sister," Emily insisted.

Amaterasu growled. "Stop it Emily! It's not funny.."
