Maynin is bored

Cyril stiffened. "No..?"

He chuckled. "I'm surprised he hasn't made something like that up yet. He seems to think I'm some sort of walking apocalypse. That I'm pure evil." Riza looked up. "What do you think I am?"

"I used to think you were a nice lad who wouldn't destroy a galaxy on a whim." Cyril sighed. "Now I don't know. I think what is important here is... who do YOU think you are?"

Riza tilted his head. "Emily hasn't told you? I never destroyed anything. I made it look like I did." He waved his hand and the world around them turned into a desolate wasteland. "I make illusions. People believe these illusions." He was strangely calm, almost serene. His normally violent and childlike demeanor had vanished. "As for that question, I am not allowed to answer, or cannot, depending on your view."

Cyril gaped. He had never seen illusions so real. It was easy to see why he had never detected these illusions before. "Why?"

"Again, I'm not at liberty to say." Suddenly the world around them stopped. "Now we can truly talk."

"What do you mean you're not at liberty to say?" Cyril narrowed his eyes.

"It means what it sounds like." Riza stop up. It was different from before. He looked like a seasoned warrior. His presence radiated a sense of strength and veterancy. His cool eyes showed a wisdom that had never been seen before. "This is who I truly am. Not an angry child, or a rampaging beast." The hybrid's voice was calm and cool, yet seemed to envelop the space they were in. He motioned to Zero and Maynin, frozen in place. "As you can see, we can talk as long as I deem necessary."

"Sounds like you're a powerful person with questionable motives and even more questionable methods," Cyril responded.

Riza gave a small smile. "Oh really?" The smile faded as he walked past Cyril, taking in the surroundings. "Instead of questioning me, you should be questioning what I've done. Like why would I fabricate the extermination of thousands of worlds? Why would I consistently fool you all into believing I entered a berserker rage, pretending to gut random life-forms.?"

"Well I did say you had questionable methods, ergo questioning your actions." Cyril's eyes sparkled, "If I asked would you just tell me you're not at liberty to say?"

"I am not sure. I can't know the outcome of an event until it happens." He stood silent for a moment. "I would have preferred you to ask some questions of your own. Your intelligent Cyril. The only one in the universe who is as knowledgeable as I am, perhaps even more so." He turned. "If I was so intent on creating this persona of a rampaging killer than why would I consistently undermine it with acts of heroism and sacrifice? Why would I spend so much time training heroes like Maynin and your protegee ?"

"The easy answer would be that you're a complete psychopath, or rather, a person with neurotic tendencies. But of course you didn't 'pause time' as it were for me to draw simple conclusions." Cyril half-mumbled to himself. "The only reason you would put on such a façade is to hide your virtue, if we are calling it that, but why? What would make you falsify and hide yourself in such a manner? What is driving you to make people think you're evil?" Cyril directed this last part to Riza.

"Who said that was the reason? But good, your starting to ask questions. There is another very important thing your missing. Why would I be telling you all this?"

"Because you need me? I hardly think you're the type to tell someone a secret just because you can't bear to keep it anymore." Cyril tried.

"That would be a good reason wouldn't it? Things are coming Cyril. A chain of events will soon begin, leading to something that even I am unsure of. I am part of it, as are you. Your role however is, how to put it, less defined."

Cyril took a moment to reflect on how 'less defined' really summed up his role in life. "What sort of things? What do I have to do with all this? Why does it require you to pretend to be evil? Why the hell can't I just rule in peace?!" Cyril muttered the last question bewilderedly, tired of all his problems.

"If I could give you answers then none of this would be taking place. You can figure out my machinations." He stopped for a moment. "You are forgetting one last important question Cyril. Am I lying? What if I am truly insane, and this is just another illusion? What if I'm evil and trying to trick you?"

Cyril only laughed. "There's no way to know, so why ask? I'll figure it out eventually anyway, wont I? But, either way, I don't think you're lying to me, Riza. If you wanted to trick me there are simpler ways to do it." Cyril thought on this briefly. There were things Riza cared about still, regardless of his possible neurosis, if these upcoming conflicts happened to threaten those things then Cyril could be confident Riza was being truthful. Unless, of course, if for some reason betraying Cyril was necessary to save these things. Best keep a close eye on things.

Riza yawned. "I guess your wondering why I called you over huh? The reason is that I am bored. As. Fuck. You got anything to do?"

"Eeeerr... we could go on some interesting journey which results in me having an easier time gaining my Fourth Wing Trans?" Cyril tried. He had a few things in mind that they could do together.

Amaterasu looked at them. "I'm not really doing anything here. Mind if I come along?"

"Suuuuuuuuuuuuure. As long as Emily can come too. You know, I haven't seen Emily for awhile... I'm sure she'll appreciate me interrupting her life to send her into possibly life threatening situations!" ((Since you're a teacher, once we finish the topic we're about to embark on, will you shave off some words from my reqs?))

((If you do the same for Sarah.)) Riza looked over at the Seraph standing behind him. "Ummm master I'm sorry o interrupt but I wanted to join you. I think I could learn a lot from Cyril."

Riza looked at the othe seraph. "Well?"

"That's quite a few people, but I'm sure we can manage." Cyril said cheerily. ((We really should explore that 'old as Cyril' plotline for Sarah sometime if that wasn't just some throw-away remark.))
