Back in Shape

Maynin spat out blood. She figured now was a good time to wrap her tail. She sighed, letting her shoulders slump forward. "Damn it Riza, don't you remember what fear is?" The gold flashes stopped. "Or pain, or suffering, or loss?" She gave him a defeated look. "Your not the only one, Riza. I don't have anyone left, you do. So just stop." Maynin shook her head. "Just... Don't do That. Please Riza, you don't get it. I told you when we met, I would never beg, but please, I am now." There was nothing Maynin wanted to do more than to curl up into a ball and ignore everything.

Riza looked at her silently, no emotion crossing his face. After a few moments he spoke again. "I don't." He held out his arm which transformed into a disfigured, scaled claw. "When I became this I gave up most of my humanity. I became what I am out of fear. In essence, I ran. Now you are doing the same thing. Don't." Riza then turned to Cyril. "Sorry for the wait." Riza got in a fighting stance and motioned. "Power up. I want to see what you can do."

Cyril and Emily exchanged looks. Emily walked closer to Maynin, "Ah.. Maynin, you alright?" She thought that perhaps a line was crossed.

"Are you going to come down to my level?" Cyril asked, dragging his thought away from Maynin's problems.

"Probably not." She replied. She forced a small laugh. "Nope, not okay."

Riza looked at Cyril. "If I lowered myself to your level I would surely lose. You can insta-dodge too many of my attacks. It would be stupid."

"Aw, come on! It's completely one sided this way too!" Cyril asserted. "Couldn't you lower yourself just a bit?"


"I'm sorry, Maynin." Emily frowned.

"About what? Stuff happens, and there isn't anything we can do about it. Besides, I don't think I would have been to close to my family-if they were still alive." She shrugged. "Meh."

Riza tilted his head. "Weren't you the one who said they could beat me at full strength? But fine."

"Well, I would need to fuse with Emily and/or Rick and damn if I'm going through all the trouble for a spar!" Cyril said.


"That's not a very healthy way to look at things." Emily remarked. "And... well. Maybe this whole anger-for-power mentality isn't either. There has to be a better way."

Maynin just laughed. "Maybe, but that's just the way things are. I never said I agreed with everything a Saiyan does. I don't even act Saiyan, if I did I'd be dead." Said Maynin. "And as for my family, I might have an older brother, but they could just be rumors." She looked back over at Cyril an Riza. "So, how far do we have to go to be safe from their fight?"

Riza lowered himself by half. "This enough for you?"

Cyril shrugged, "Yeah, sure."


Emily scanned over the two. "Hmmm. Well, Riza has lowered his power, so...." Emily backed up for some ways. "Right about here as long as things don't get too intense."

Maynin cocked her head and gave Emily a funny look. "Your talking about Riza, of course things will get intense." She shrugged. "So... anything good happening around here?"

Riza covered his fist in spikes and sent a barrage of punches at Cyril.

Cyril stopped the attack just before it reached him with telekinesis. "Hmm, you know I'm not entirely sure I even have enough power to kill you in a direct attack." he remarked. He counted on his fingers for a moment. "Oh no wait I could, sorry, never mind. This is fair then." Cyril created a sword of white ki and whipped it at Riza [82,500 St + 62,500 Ki x 2 = 290,000 Damage] ((Could you put all your stats up since it's not what your spoiler says now?))

"Hmm, I hear there's a festival going on in New Aven in a week or so." Emily told Maynin casually.

"Oh," Said Maynin. "Well, I doubt we'll stay for it, so... if I ever see you again you should tell me about it." She sat down and watched Cyril and Riza.

Riza watched as the ki blade pierced through his abdomen. He moved his gaze up to Cyril. Riza's mouth slowly opened and a billowing cloud of flame burst out.

Maynin did a double take. Riza could breathe Fire?

Riza managed to transform just in time. He felt his flesh burn away in the blast. The pain was agonizing. Everything was burned. Yet he was alive. The husk tilted its head at Cyril. An inhuman sound emanated from it as flames began to wrap it like a shroud.

Emily saw the resemblance.

"Holy crap." Maynin looked at Emily, "And this is... practice?"

The flames turned into a solid shroud. When they disperse Riza looked fully healed, at least physically. For the first time in ages, he grabbed two of the swords on his back. Suddenly a second pair of arms grew and he pulled out the Katana around his waist. His skin had turned into pure lava. His wings grabbed the last pair of swords.

(3)"YOU ARE A BALROG HOLY SHIT, RIZA!" Cyril shouted teasingly. "Send Melkor my regards." By now Cyril had pretty much ceded the win to Riza.

"Yup. The big players like Riza and Cyril get pretty intense. You should've seen Cyril in his golden days." Emily told Maynin, "He was almost a hundred times as strong as he is now- and that's no exaggeration. Even now Riza isn't fighting at his full power."

Maynin's eyes turned a shade of pale grey that only happened when she was truly surprised. She blinked up at the thing she almost couldn't believe was Riza. "Fucked." She said to no one in particular. "We are all fucked."
