God Complex

Rick was strolling through a mysteriously cropped cornfield on Heaven when he happened upon Cyril and some chick asleep. "Guys," he said, "Wake up. Cyril! Il prostituto!"

Cyril yawned and found he was next to Lily in a field. He sat up. "Huh?"

Rick shrugged, "You're glowing, Cyril."

"Wha?" Cyril looked down at himself. He was indeed glowing. "What... where are we?"

Lily's eyes fluttered up. She gasped and jerked up. "Cyril!" Lily grabbed onto her husband like she might be taken away again. "W-What happened, where are we?"

Ryuzaki pulled out a scanner, "Big traces of teleportation energy." He blinked, "Don't suppose you've recently re-entered our world?"

"What? I... I was taken to Kaio Realms, then to Heaven, then I woke up here." Cyril said slowly. Boy did he feel great. Cyril could run a marathon. Cyril patted Lily's arm to reassure her. "We're on Earth, Lily. It's safe for us here."

Lily blinked. Most of those names were unfamiliar. "I'm... confused."

Ryuzaki blinked. "As if I'd be caught dead on Earth now that Riza's family runs it...." he pointed up.

Cyril closed his eyes and shook his head vigorously as if shaking off a fog. Cyril looked up at the sky and saw stars and two suns. Cyril looked at the cornfield confusedly. "Oh right, the agricultural exchange. Sorry, we're on Heaven then," he amended.

"What happened to that cave? Cyril, who were those people? I've never seen anything like them..."

Rick looked up to see scores of flying people, bees, cars, trees, yous and mes, and cups overhead, moving out of view towards the horizon.

"Er... what happenes?"

"That'd be the Tantibi, Rick. They were being enslaved by the Oneiroi, which is what those things were Lily, and... well it's a long story but one of the Tantibi became a god and saved Lily so I would help free his people. There was a real Kai there too...." Cyril trailed off.

"An Oneiroi?" Lily frowned. "Nope, not ringing any bells." Lily looked around at the unfamiliar plants and at the sky where the stars were different. "I feel like I'm missing something huge."

((Lily doesn't know anything outside of the fact that she died in the war and was brought back, right?))

Rick needed a smoke. He pulled out a fag and his matchbox. He exhaled smoke, "Christ. Then what happened?"

"Well, the Kai did something to me, engulfed me in some huge beam of light. I think he made me more powerful," Cyril said. "I... I see so much. I can see new dimensions. I feel new things in the air, all around us. I can hear a child crying across the planet. What did he do to me?"

Lily touched Cyril hesitantly and he felt like a tiny little furnace full of heat and power. How attractive. "That's... new."

Ryuzaki glanced at his scanner and coughed in surprise, shooting his fag out into the field. "You're... Cyril? you've become...." he fished out the flyer from earlier.

Cyril grabbed the paper and looked at it in disbelief. "No... but yes. I can feel it." Cyril touched Lily's cheek cautiously. "I can see so much deeper now," he glanced at Rick. Cyril cleared his throat upon doing so. Cyril slowly snapped his fingers. Somewhere a child stopped crying. He smiled in wonder.

Lily was very confused but she was comforted by the look of happiness on Cyril's face. "Er... what's a Kai?"

"God. A good one," he sighed. Rick's eyes shot open, "Oh my Cyril." He blinked in confusion. He shook his head, "Cyril, we have to go. We have to run. We have to hide and train and prepare for war."

"What? What war? What've I missed?" Cyril, actually getting up now.

Lily got up with Cyril. A god?... She looked concerned. This wouldn't change things would it? "Another war?" Lily shifted nervously.

Hideki H. Ryuzaki, for the first time in his life, showed a look of complete fear and concern for his friend. "I'll explain soon enough. We're too exposed." He pulled a tablet from his satchel and read off coordinates, "Can you get there? Supposed to be a place of Seraphim and Roman myths. 'North Palace' or something."

"Sure!" Cyril wrapped his arm around Lily and grabbed Rick. There was a flash of light and a small pulse of energy. They appeared in front of a majestic fountain in front of a sprawling compound. "Whoa."
