Makoto stood waiting for Artik.

"So," Artik shouted, appearing and pacing around Makoto, battle robes swishing, "You just waltz into the palace and take over, huh? Well..." he snatched the crown from Makoto's head, "You know your people's customs. Until I'm lying here, dead, this crown and all it represents is mine." He stuck it on his head. "Come on, then."

Makoto tilted his head. "No items, only our experience and power. Understand?"

Artik nodded. "The challenger attacks first, Machiavelli."

Makoto nodded and sent flurry of punches at his opponent. "Your going to pay for what you have done Artik." There was no anger in his voice. It was cold and unfeeling.

Artik ITed to behind Makoto, "Reminf me: what've I done exactly?" Artik tried at punch at Makoto's neck.

Makoto took the punch without flinching. "Breaking Saiyan heritage. You were born from Saiyan blood and yet you renounce it. You are not worthy of this throne." Makoto stared atArtik. "mou oshimai da"

Artik muttered, "Et non tradat."

Makoto blasted Artik with a pillar of Ki.

Ki left: 1,000,000

Artik used his second and last IT to dodge it. "Right, then, Makoto. Don't get cocky."

Artik sighed, "GALICK GUN!" [Ki used: 1,000,000 damage: 1,500,000]

Ki left: 3,400,000

Makoto again took the attack. As blood dripped from his mouth he spoke again. "There are only two outcomes. I win, or I die. I swore to my family I would not die again. I WILL NOT DIE HERE!" Makoto's emotions pushed him to the limit. His power exploded in waves, shredding the area around them. The shock waves were easily felt across the universe. Red fur and blacked rings eyes stood in the epicenter. Makoto had reached the pinnacle of Saiyans. "I. Will. Live." Makoto flew into the air and created hundreds of balls in rings around him. "CORONA BARRAGE!!"

Makoto once again took the damage. Watching Artik to see what he would do next.

Artik was a bit unnerved by Makoto's apathy. "What is it? All that talk, and yet you have yet to land a hit on me!"

Makoto sighed. "I can't win. Without the FUCKING MOON I'm useless. I'm just a Saiyan up against a god race."

Artik was about to charge a Galick Gun, but instead sighed, lowered his hand, and shook his head. "Makoto. Some day, I will die. For good. My race isn't invincible. And you will be the one to kill me. So chin up, soldier. With my luck, it won't be too long before I die."

Makoto looked at Artik. "That's the problem. I wasn't. If I canb't beat you then I am not worthy of protecting the Saiyan Race...and besides. You know the rules. One of us has to die."

Artik put his hands behind his back, "Go on, then. If it means so much to you. I won't fight back, old friend." He didn't connect the first bit of Makoto's dialogue.

Makoto suddenly growled. "Don't..you dare. I don't want to win like that! Do you really think I want top win to you because you surrendered?!"

Artik sighed, "Thought you'd finally accept." He shrugged. "Tell you what. I'll be hosting a late Christmas party on a small planet called Trenzalore, let's say... tomorrow. February 15th, 576AZ."

Makoto sighed. "Fine....this isn't over yet."

Artik nodded, "Not by a mile."

Makoto went to get his new training partners.
