Spiting the Oneiroi

Cyril set up the balls and summoned Herminos. He waited patiently. Emily was there.

Makoto teleported in. "Yo."

"Hello." Cyril greeted Makoto cheerfully. "In case you wanted to know, I'll be doing this every time they recharge or whatever. The Oneiroi have been trying to locate them and this is the most efficient way to stop them."

Emily waved, "Hi, Makoto."

Makoto coughed. "Would you mind if I uh....."

Emily looked at Cyril expectantly.

"Hmm..." Cyril rubbed his chin. "Well Makoto, here's the deal." he began, "I need my wish so I can... well. I need to reach my final form for some..." Cyril glanced at Emily. "Tests. Emily had planned to reach her next transformation here as well." he trailed off uncertainly.

Emily, ever the opportunist, "I'd be fine with giving my wish to you Makoto, but I'll need something from you too."

Makoto nodded. "I need to be stronger to prepare for what will happen. What are your terms?"

Emily smiled, knowing she now had him around her finger. "Since I wont be reaching my next level of power with the dragon balls, I want you to train me until I can. And I also want you to teach me every technique I can learn from you." Emily thought about asking for some Zenni as well, but figured she could always borrow from Cyril who was surprisingly loose with his money.

Cyril grinned, feeling proud of his choice of companion.

Makoto tilted his head thinking for a moment. "Hmmmm.....You teach me Ki Cannon and you got a deal."

Emily hummed thoughtfully. "Throw in a good amount of Zenni and we have a deal."

Makoto looked at her. "2 mil."

Emily shrugged, "That'll work."

Cyril crossed his arms and drummed his fingers on his arm.

Makoto yawned. "So how much longer?"

Cyril shrugged, "Around fifteen minutes I think."

Makoto hummed to himself slightly. "So ummm.......You have any family Cyril?"

Cyril frowned. "Well I had a wife once."

Emily looked curious, "Things didn't work out?" she asked, completely oblivious to his life story.

Makoto nodded. "What was she like?"

"She died, Emily, I... it's a long story. Ask me again some time." Cyril told her.

Emily felt kinda bad now.

"Well. She was quite a bit like me." Cyril sighed. "But she was a fierce one. She had quite the temper. Lily was always so determined and she could be a bit callous." Cyril looked down with a sad smile, "She always told me I was her anchor; always kept her in line."

Makoto looked down sadly. "Sounds like she was sorta like me...Sorry for your loss."

"Sometimes she was." Cyril adjusted his top hat. Cyril dipped his head in acknowledgement. He stared at the dragon balls in silent contemplation.

Emily shuffled uncomfortably.

Makoto sighed. "I guess since we are sharing.. I still haven't gone to see my parents since I revived them."

"Really?" Cyril asked. "It must be hard. I can only imagine how they would feel."

"What happened to them to begin with?" Emily asked gently.

Makoto closed his eyes. "It was so many years ago now. I was 8 years old. My parents hid my Saiyan heritage from me. I heard them arguing about me. I peaked inside their room and I saw my father make a ki orb. Something snapped inside of me and...I vaporized him....It didn't end there. My mom tried to comfort me...I ripped out her heart..." After a moment of silence he continued. "That's why I can't go see them. I murdered them in cold blood." Makoto looked over at the dragonballs. "I think they are ready."

Clouds gathered, a dragon appeared. You know the drill. "I AM HERMINOS, ETERNAL DRAGON OF HEAVEN." Herminos looked at his summoners. "Oh, hey Cyril. WHAT IS YOUR WISH?" The dragon thundered.

"I wish for more power." Cyril asked tentatively. He whistled for his space ship and it appeared next to him. "I'm afraid I can't stay for long after." Cyril muttered, "Looming death and innate ki-related disabilities to handle."

"WISH GRANTED. And hey, good luck not dying 'father'." Herminos said. "WHAT IS THE NEXT WISH?"
